Hi Sue,

Certainly a lot more regulation and with respect to 08 numbers a sledge hammer to crack a nut. What was the actual damage to consumers on calling these numbers to access services?

This could impact the charity sector quite badly as many organisations providing complex services for a variety councelling services were partially funded through the small rebate back on 08 numbers. In the future, if using 03 numbers, the charity will need to pay more to the service provider to compansate the loss of rebate and more to the Telco for use of the number.

I also agree that Ofcom who champions the integrity of number ranges seems to be oblivious to the fact that mobile operators do not adhere to the integrity of any number ranges and charge more or less what they like and in some cases barring access to number ranges..... forcing use of some of their own billing mechanisms that of course they benefit from ....

Regards

For me personally Facebook is now for friends. I have received some very strange friend requests recently and I've declined all of them. Interesting article on Twitter in the Sunday Times yesterday http://business.timesonline.co.uk/tol/business/industry_sectors/technology/article6850779.ece
Ignore this new form of social media at your peril!

Couldn't agree more here Sue. I tend to use Twitter for business and facebook for friends however, it does create a slightly awkward situation when business contacts try to become Facebook friends... do you accept or decline?

Must admit I'm still grappling with social media etiquete myself..

For large corporations IVR is definitely a good solution as long as it's implemented and provides answers to the most common issues without requiring human intervention. If it doesn't then 9/10 a person will be required to answer the call, effectively making the IVR redundent and just creating delay, frustration for the caller! As I've experienced with one or two broadband companies lately!
